I was born in 1984 in Bindal, in the Shimla District of Himachal Pradesh, India. I received  undergraduate degree from Himachal Pradesh University in 2004. In 2007, I completed M.Sc. Chemistry from Guru Nanak Dev University, India. Immediately after Masters degree, I joined the research group of Prof. Swapandeep Singh Chimni at the same university as a Ph.D. student. In 2012, I was awarded the doctorate degree. After a small stint as a Research Associate in the research group of Prof. Chimni, in April 2013 I moved to Germany and joined the research group of Prof. Dieter Enders as a post-doctoral researcher at RWTH Aachen University. From 2014 to 2017 I worked in the same research group as sub-group leader. I began my independent career as an assistant professor at Indian Institute of Technology Jammu in October 2017.

I like to spend time with my research group in the lab. In addition to Chemistry, I like to play cricket and badminton.
